EXO's D.O. 2025 Asia tour is set to be held from July 19, 2025, to October 26, 2025, in venues across South Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, People's Republic of China, Thailand, and Japan. The tour is the first ever solo concert of his career.

More dates for the tour will be announced in the near future. D.O. has so far released three solo EPs, with the latest one, Blossom, being released in 2024. The singer recently revealed the details of his upcoming solo album in an exclusive interview with Harper Bazaar Korea, stating in response to a question regarding why he chose Blossom as the title of the album:
"Empathy is the reason I do music. I value the moments when I'm moved by something I see or hear, and I'm influenced by it. I wanted to create an album that could evoke empathy, so I made my first album with that mindset."
The singer continued:
"The second album was filled with lyrics that expressed the feeling of being overwhelmed by the weight of people's expectations. This time, I chose "Blossom" because I hope it will be an opportunity for growth, not just for me, but for everyone who listens. We all grow one step at a time, even in the midst of pain and hardship."
The singer added that he preferred simplicity and sincerity in his lyrics, and preferred to write songs that stayed with a listened for a long time. More recently, the singer provided an update on the future of EXO as a band, stating during an interview for his film Secret: Untold Melody, here quoted from Koreaboo via an article by News 18 on January 23, 2025:
"We will start preparing and you’ll be able to see us, so there’s no need to worry. Not this year right away, but you’ll be able to meet us at the earliest possible time. We will start preparing this year after taking into account everyone’s individual schedules."

The members of EXO, including D.O. have been on a hiatus from the band and its activities to fulfill their mandatory military service requirements with the Republic of Korea military. D.O. completed his military service in 2020 and was discharged in January 2021, while Sehun, the youngest member of EXO will complete his service in September 2025.
After his military service, D.O released the aforementioned EP and also worked on his acting career, starring in two films — the 2023 science fiction film, The Moon, and the aforementioned fantasy film, Secret: Untold Melody.
