Kanye West has once again made the headlines and this time it is for his comment on the music industry. In a now-deleted X post, he said most artists are paying for clicks to make their songs look more popular.

According to him, these numbers don’t show real popularity, just money spent by everyone in the industry on boosting the number of views and streams. He is making it clear that he won’t be doing this for his new album, Bully.

He believes music should spread naturally, through real fans, not paid promotions. In his now-deleted video, he said,

“I'm recording live from Japan right now and I was talking to my boy and I was talking about how I released 'Bully' just on my Twitter and how I like the idea of being on DSPs.
"But I don't like the fact that they show the numbers because every single musician now pays more money to give their first week's numbers that we make off of the actual album, so then you gotta make your money through brand deals and touring and if you say anything against the brand deal, you can get your brands dropped.
"so now they have the control of what you say and when you go touring you know who gets paid off of the tours, that they're eating every which way and there has to be a moment when they say we have control over what these guys are making on these album sales and these streams because if we give them too much money, they're going to be sitting in a hotel, like in Japan like Ye, as opposed to jumping up and down on a stage, so how do I get the music on DSPs, without them counting it, because I'm not doing all the sh*t vinyl and this and that, like I'm telling you everyone in the industry is paying for the numbers right now and that's just not that I'm f**king with. So, there you got it."

However, a handle on Instagram named Manny Wave downloaded the same and uploaded on their handle. Here's the video fans can watch as it may be taken down soon:

He said he wants Bully to succeed based on its quality, not the usual artificial hype. This statement has started a huge conversation. Many people believe artists buy fake numbers, but few actually talk about it.

Now, Kanye West is starting to speak up and bringing the issue into the spotlight. Some fans support him, while others question if this is just another publicity stunt.

Kanye West’s Take on Fake Popularity

For years, Kanye has spoken up about problems in the music industry and he has been quite blunt about it. In his words, success should come from talent, not tricks. He believes fake clicks ruin the meaning of true success. This time, he is making a direct statement that he is refusing to play along.

Bully is different from most album releases. Instead of just dropping the songs, Kanye released a 45-minute short film. The film features his son, Saint, who is 9 years old. In the video, Saint is in a wrestling ring, fighting multiple opponents while holding a toy mallet. The entire album plays as the background music which the fans found quite interesting.

Kanye seems confident that Bully will find success without fake numbers. He is trusting his fans to spread the music instead of using paid boosts. But again, this bold move also comes with challenges.

Controversy Surrounding Kanye West's 'Bully'

Even before Bully was released, Kanye faced issues. French singer Pomme accused him of using a sample from her song Soleil Soleil without asking. She spoke out about it, saying artists should respect each other’s work. Many fans are waiting to see how Kanye responds.

There were also problems with getting approval for samples. Some artists refused to let Kanye use their work because of his past political statements. This made it harder for him to complete the album the way he originally planned. Things have escalated, yet fans are loving Bully.

Despite these issues, Kanye is standing by his decision. He insists that he won’t use fake numbers to push Bully. Whether or not this approach works, it has already started a conversation about honesty in the music industry.
