It would seem that the Kendrick Lamar and Drake beef has found new ways to resurrect itself through the rappers’ allies and friends. On April 21, 2025, DJ Mustard, the producer behind the critically acclaimed Lamar diss track Not Like Us, was involved in an online sparring session with Drake’s close friend and producer Gordo.

Mustard, on his X account, threw shade at Gordo in a series of tweets:

"Aint going back and forth with a n***a that's happy to change music on another n***as toilet seats. "let’s just end it here i’m richer than you and have more hits than you i have multiple houses with my own toilet seats and many of my own chains to wear @GordoSZN."

The rapper fired off another tweet, calling Gordo an attention seeker:

"the guy wants attention. Keep slaving at those over seas shows brother … don’t forget to buckle dudes pants after you done.”

Mustard then attached a photo of Gordo wearing one of Drake’s chains in the rapper’s house with the caption:

“omg girl i can’t believe it b***h he really left me in his house with all his chains he trust me . i’m his fine s**t.”

@Kurrco shared DJ Mustard’s tweets, and some netizens felt that the latter was over-flogging the Kendrick Lamar-Drake feud.

@nefariousnk tweeted in response:

“Mustard still dragging this beef for relevancy.”

Some X users echoed the sentiment:

“Bro Mustard is trying so hard to fit himself in the he beef. It’s like that one friend that goes out with the group, and no one likes him, bruh,” @xnoond expressed.
“Oh brotherrr can we stop this old a** beef? They’re all 40 years old. Move on,” @okStevieee added.
“Mustard needs to pipe down,” GiannisChantzis stated.

Some netizens reported that Mustard was only responding to Gordo’s earlier tweets.

“You not goin' mention Gordo started it first, huh…” @thatdude340pm tweeted.
“Mustard RESPONDED to producer Gordo after the series of shots he threw FIRST,” @twoonefiveniki added.

The industry producers have been at loggerheads since the 2024 Kendrick Lamar-Drake rap feud, with each party throwing shade at the other on social media. In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Mustard described Drake as a “strange guy.” Gordo was quick to clap back with an ironic statement:

"I will not tolerate any dj mustard slander…. That guy is a f*cking legend… made multiple classics.. and had one the most iconic runs ever as a producer… he’s just a strange guy,"

On April 14, 2025, Gordo, who has produced several hits for the Canadian rapper, including Rich Baby Daddy and GIMME A HUG, took to X to declare that Mustard had unfollowed him on Instagram.

He tweeted:

“Omg. I just noticed Mustard unfollowed me on IG. Sad day….headlining Chella must have got to his head.”

He followed after with another tweet on April 21, 2025, throwing shade at DJ Mustard’s April 11 Coachella performance:

“Imagine devoting your entire Coachella set to a guy that wouldn’t drive an hour to pop out for you cc: @mustard.”

Meanwhile, DJ Mustard is opening for Kendrick Lamar and SZA in the ongoing Grand National Tour. Neither Lamar nor Drake has commented on their producers’ public beef.
