Kanye West is back to posting on X, and his latest "tweet" includes one of his previous collaborators, Jay-Z. In the post, West brought up an old song that he, Jay-Z, Francis, and The Lights worked on. Jail was released in 2021, and one trivia related to the song is that Jay-Z's vocals were recorded just a few hours before the Donda listening party at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, which was held in Atlanta.

Ye posted on X:

"Why did Jay Z have to say “no red hat” on Jail That shit tore me to my soul We fought about it and he told me either leave that line on there or take my verse off Me wearing the red hat was the most stand out example of me going against “the program” Do you guys think he was instructed to say that ?"

Kanye West is known for wearing the red "Make America Great Again" (MAGA) hats. He has also posted numerous pro-Trump tweets in the past and even declared that he will be performing with his MAGA hat on. However, in the song Jail, Jay-Z's lyrics included the line:

"Donda, I'm with your baby when I touch back road Told him, "Stop all of that red cap, we goin' home" Not me with all of these sins, castin' stones This might be the return of The Throne," Jay-Z raps in Jail.

How did fans react to Kanye West's latest tweet about Jay-Z's vocals in Jail?

Netizens were divided in the comment section. Some supported the Donda rapper, while others were on the Renegade singer's side. A few others expressed their thoughts on why Kanye brought this up years later. Some asked why he went forward, releasing the song and featuring Jay-Z, if he did not agree with the lyrics.

Have a look at some of the replies on Ye's post.

Given the recent history where Kanye West was calling out rappers and artists, one user asked:

"Is there beef with Jay now?" - @thealyssastory enquired.

Another user who believed that Jay-Z helped Kanye get to where he is now said:

"Jay z MADE YOU. Do not speak ill of him" - @cometcalls commented.

One netizen commented:

"You and Jay both billionaires but only one is truly free" - @TheKanversation said, probably reffering to the concept of freedom of speech.

A netizen left a lengthy comment asking if Kanye West was the one who was "instructed". The comment reads:

"The red hat was like a decade ago, dude. Do you think Jail needed Jay’s verse? I don’t, the song was good without him. If you fought about it, why didn’t you take his verse off? What you just said here makes it seem like YOU were instructed, and complied. Was that a label/contract thing?" - @hellodon asked.

Some even appreciated the lyrics by saying:

"I don’t know if he was instructed to say it - but damn - that verse was f**king hip hop heaven right there! 10/10 verse 🔥 " - @sysy1100 added.

Kanye West's recent X post has stirred the pot, leaving fans debating in the comment section, not only about the lyrics but also the meaning behind the words.
