Tool, the progressive American band known for their dark, atmospheric sound that often features philosophical or psychological themes and heavy riffs, recently hosted their inaugural destination festival, Tool Live in the Sand.

This event took place from March 7 to 9, 2025. This all-inclusive event had performances by Tools and also supporting acts by Primus and Mastodon.

The festival was designed in such a way that it combined a unique blend of a distinctive music style and a tropical getaway, giving fans the ultimate concert experience. However, things did not go well during the band's second show on March 8th, which led to fans booing.

Fans booed Tool at their own festival- What went wrong?

The festival was held at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino and Royalton Resort in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. The festival was made to offer fans an immersive experience. It combines live music by Tool along with resort amenities and luxury accommodations.

The band promised their fans that they would be playing two unique sets for them. However, according to fans, they did not live up to the promise they made.

On the first day of the show, which was on Friday night (March 7th), the band played a 10-song set that included tracks from all of their studio albums. They played Rosetta Stoned, Pneuma, Jambi, Flood, Invincible, Fear Inoculum, The Grudge, and fan favorites like Vicarious, Schism, and Stinkfist.

Their first-day performance was a hit with the fans. At the end of the second day's show, the booing started. On Saturday night, 8th March, the band played nine songs. Among the nine songs, they repeated four songs from the previous night.

Those songs were Rosetta Stoned, Pneuma, Jambi, and Fear Inoculum. This is where things went downhill and left fans frustrated. Apparently, fans expected two completely different setlists, but they instead got a shorter show with repeated songs.

Their fans felt that the Friday's was great, but the Saturday show let them down. Some of the fans also pointed out that the band started 30 minutes early. They also called it a breach of contract and wanted a refund.

While both the shows weren't exactly the same, fans expected to be entertained by completely new music sets each day.

Tool's upcoming music tours

Tool will next be performing for the very first time in South America along with some shows in Mexico in the presence of their lead singer Maynard James Keenan, known for his famous songs like The Pot, Sober, and Weak and Powerless.

He will also be present on the tour with his other bands. The other bands will include Puscifer, A Perfect Circle, and Primus on the Sessanta V2.0 tour.
