j-hope is back with a fresh collaboration to the table. The BTS star has teamed up with Grammy-winning R&B artist Miguel for his latest single, “Sweet Dreams.” The track is officially set to drop on March 7, 2025.
The song will be released with an official music video and performed live during j-hope’s Hope on the Stage world tour, which kicks off on February 28, 2025, in Seoul.
This marks j-hope’s first solo release since completing his mandatory military service in South Korea in October 2024. The upcoming track also follows the success of his last project, Hope on the Street, Vol. 1. Now, fans are eager to see how the BTS member’s artistry has evolved in this new chapter of his career.
'Sweet Dreams' is a fusion of pop and R&B
Jung Hoseok, famously known as j-hope, has been a beloved part of BTS since their debut in 2013. He has launched solo projects with his 2022 album Jack in the Box and later went on with the 2024 EP Hope on the Street, Vol. 1.
Per Rolling Stone, j-hope's latest single, 'Sweet Dreams', is described as a fusion of pop and R&B. It features the theme of love and longing. BigHit Music's description of the track is as follows,
"A soulful blend of pop and R&B, ‘Sweet Dreams (feat. Miguel)’ expresses the desire to love and be loved."
On the other hand, Miguel is beloved for hits like "Sure Thing" and "Adorn." His collaboration with j-hope is their first time working together. However, BTS has previously covered Mariah Carey’s song “Beautiful,” which originally featured Miguel. Now j-hope is all set to launch a collaboration with Miguel. For some fans, it can draw a full circle.
Chart Data took to its official X (formerly Twitter) handle to share the news of 'Sweet Dreams' collaboration. The post read,
"j-Hope and Miguel’s new single "Sweet Dreams" will be released next Friday, March 7."
Fans of both artists were quick to weigh in on the comment section of the post with their thoughts as many of them were excited about this collaboration. Below are what some of them shared,
"A dream collab for J-Hope", declared a fan.
"J-hope and Miguel are about to drop a banger", chimed in another.
"This is going to be REVOLUTIONARY", predicted a third.
While some fans were rejoicing, a group of netizens conveyed criticism.
"So desperate for western validation", remarked a netizen.
"So this is how Miguel decides to come back to music after his divorce? Bruh this is not what we wanted", commented another.
Fans got their first look at 'Sweet Dreams' through its cover art, which j-hope shared on February 26, 2025. The design features him relaxing in a silver convertible, floating through clouds in the sky.
Before the single officially drops on streaming platforms, fans will get a live performance preview during the Hope on the Stage world tour. The tour starts on February 28, 2025, with a three-night concert run at the KSPO Dome in Seoul, where j-hope will perform the track for the first time.
This tour is his first-ever solo world tour. The journey will take him to 15 cities across the globe, including Los Angeles, Brooklyn, Chicago, Mexico City, Manila, Singapore, Jakarta, Bangkok, and Tokyo. In total, j-hope will perform 31 concerts, wrapping up the tour in Osaka, Japan, on June 1, 2025.
