How have fans reacted as DJ Akademiks confirms A-list stars in Playboi Carti’s new album?

Since DJ Akademiks has confirmed many fans are eager to hear the album, especially with features from artists like Lil Uzi Vert, Travis Scott, The Weeknd and others. Their reactions are a mix of euphoria and skepticism, given Carti’s history of delays.

“Album about to slap!” A user wrote on X.
“Throwing sum on the grill tonight.” Another added.
“Justin Bieber is crazy I can’t wait to hear this album” One fan added.

Meanwhile, a few other users were not interested to listen to Playboi Carti.

“With all these features, if Drake still outperforms him with an RnB album, then music is Monopolized in Drake's favourite” A fan wrote, comparing Carti’s music to Drake’s.
“I’ve never listened to a Playboi Carti album and still won’t” A user commented.
“Is he going to have a song up there about not hitting real women.” A woman questioned.

She referred to the rapper's 2018 controversial track, R.I.P. where he reportedly used darker lyrics, chanting, “I’ma go f**k that b*tch, I’ma go thrash that b*tch.”

In a cover story with XXL magazine, Carti shared that his next album would be titled Music.

"I want this album to make everyone feel free," Carti said. "I hope this album brings peace to the world, honestly. I’m in love with what I’m doing. Like I told you, you can’t put a genre alternative [on me]."

A 2023 report by the outlet stated that he had partially recorded the album in a cave.

"I'm in my surroundings. I've been recording in Paris. I love Paris. I was recording in a cave for like three months and all the music that came out of that is just chaotic and crazy."

I AM MUSIC marks Playboi Carti’s first album since 2020 when he released Whole Lotta Red. Although the tracklist isn’t out yet, a few reports indicated that the album will feature 25 tracks, according to Uproxx.
