Brand New's upcoming tour will be their first new tour since their reunion in late December 2024. The band went on a long-term hiatus after allegations of inappropriate behavior emerged against band vocalist Jesse Lacey.
Brand New released their last album, Science Fiction, back in 2017. However, they are best known for their earlier albums, particularly 2003's Deja Entendu.
The album is one of their more commercially successful albums. Jesse Lacey talked about the album in an exclusive interview with MTV on June 19, 2003, here quoted via the Web Archive instant of the page:
"It's very tongue-in-cheek. No matter who you are or what your band is about, you can't put a record out without people saying it's derivative of something else."
The singer continued:
"So by saying the record's already been heard, it's kind of like saying, 'Yeah, you're right. We're doing something that's already been done before. And in a sense we are. We're not trying to break new ground in music. We're just trying to make good music."
The singer added:
"It's very strange. The songs are things I wrote on my acoustic guitar in my bedroom. Before you know it, people fall in love with them and thousands of people are singing the words to them when I'm playing. It's very surreal."
Brand New has released a total of five albums in their career so far. It is unclear at the moment if Brand New will release new music someday now that they have reunited.
