Big Ocean, an all-hearing-impaired K-pop band, will be going on its 'Underwater' tour in Europe in April. The band's performances, including the use of sign language and visual narratives, have raised interest.
The tour will allow European fans to see them perform live. It will kick off in Switzerland at Polymanga, a popular pop culture convention, before spreading to the rest of Europe. Although the full tour calendar has yet to be announced, the band has already confirmed shows on April 19 and 20 in Montreux.
In addition to their performances, the band will hold workshops and interaction sessions with the deaf community. These are aimed at promoting accessibility within the music sector and promoting inclusivity.

The Big Ocean tour will start at Polymanga in Switzerland
Big Ocean will launch its European tour at Polymanga, the largest event in Switzerland focused on pop culture, video games, and manga. The Easter weekend festival draws thousands of people.
It will take place from April 18 to 21 at the Montreux Music & Convention Centre.
Polymanga has hosted a number of K-pop groups in earlier editions. Further information on ticketing and event access will be made available by the festival organizers.
Further tour dates and venues are to be announced
Outside Switzerland, Big Ocean will tour other European towns, albeit no venues or dates have so far been released. The band will likely play in venues where there is already a K-pop fan base and demand for accessibility-oriented performances.
The group's management has stated that the complete tour calendar will be released shortly, enabling fans to get ready for live concerts. The tour will include a combination of live shows and community events. Information about the tour will be communicated through the band's official platforms and event promoters.

The tour will also feature deaf community engagement events
Apart from concerts, Big Ocean's European tour will also comprise outreach activities targeted towards the deaf population. The band will conduct workshops, debates, and interactive sessions in collaboration with local NGOs.
These programs address accessibility within music and inclusivity for hearing-impaired musicians.
The band has conducted similar community outreach programs previously in South Korea and other countries.
In addition to performances, the Big Ocean band's interaction with the deaf community will be an integral part of their visit. Additional information about the tour dates and ticketing is to be expected in the forthcoming weeks.
