Angie's family shared a message on Instagram and expressed their gratitude towards fans for their "love and well-wishes" during a "very difficult time." The post described Angie as a leading "example" for the black community.
The caption further revealed her contributions and noted that she,
"Believed in giving back to her fans in the community with her foundation “Angel Stripes, the Angie Stone foundation“.
The message further described Angie's love and belief in "God" and noted the details about her funeral service.
Singer and actress Jennifer Hudson (@iamjhud) posted a picture of Angie and shared a heartfelt message,
"I can’t believe this! What a loss !!! Angie Stone was a true pioneer. Another one of our great soul singers gone too soon. Prayers up for her family and loved ones!"
Actor Jamie Foxx (@iamjamiefoxx) revealed his disbelief and shared a few posts paying tribute to Angie's legacy. He captioned one of his posts,
"No way I know they say that God doesn’t make any mistakes… but man this one hurts… Angie was an incredible songwriter, and incredible artist an incredible person… never thought in 1 million years that this would happen… Rest In power…."
Singer, actress, and Stone's friend Syleena Johnson (@syleenajohnson) also wrote a heartfelt note about their friendship. She revealed she had known Angie for "23 years," and they went through various "ups and downs." She wrote,
"I have been priviledged to know you as as a sister friend and always my soror. At your induction ceremony, I told you that you were now stuck with me forever…..I love you sis."
She added,
"And while I am heartbroken that God found it to be time for you to be with him, my heart is broken that we will not be able to have you here with all of us…
