Playboi Carti known for his hits like Die Lit and Whole Lotta Red took to his Instagram on March 13, 2025, to announce the release of his upcoming album I Am Music on Friday, March 14, 2025.

The album follows his 2020 release Whole Lotta Red. Although the promotional campaign for I Am Music began in December 2023 and the album was set to release in January 2024, it was delayed. This led to frustration among fans.
