He stated, "I’ve got one more announcement to make. This is less like one song and more like 10. My second album will be coming out June 20, 2025 and it is called American Heart."

Benson Boone explained that the album draws on elements of classic American rock influences and is inspired by artists such as Bruce Springsteen. The announcement offered a glimpse into the themes of the record without using extravagant language.
