Ari Lennox, the singer whose song, Pressure, peaked at number 66 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart, has abruptly left Dreamville Records, with whom she was associated for nearly 10 years. The reason for her exit is cited to be neglect and a lack of support from the team when it came to promoting her music.

Her debut studio album, Shea Butter Baby, was also released by Dreamville and Interscope Records and garnered her massive popularity. Ari last performed as a Dreamville Records artist at the Dreamville Festival in April 2025, where she appreciated the label.

Ari Lennox leaves Dreamville Records

Ari Lennox's career was launched by Dreamville Records, founded by the Friday Night Lights singer, J Cole. TMZ Hip Hop confirmed that Ari has left Dreamville Records and will now release her songs through Interscope.

Last October, Ari publicly called out Dreamville and Interscope by uploading an Instagram story. In the callout, she mentioned that she was being lied to and manipulated. She also added that the labels didn't know how to protect or market her. He Instagram story read:

''Interscope and Dreamville have been playing with me all month and I’m so exhausted. “I’m so tired of people treating me like they’re sorry for me and like I’m the face of mental health. I’m ok and I’ve never been happier. What I don’t like is being signed and lied to and manipulated. Not one person at those labels ever knew how to market or protect me. Y’all don’t know the half. Constant let down and neglect. This industry stuff will never be for me."

On October 29, 2024, she posted a reel (which has now been deleted) where she spoke about her frustrations with the label. She also said that she wanted to be out of contract:

''I try to do things the right way, and nobody takes me seriously. I’m trying to be respectful, but I feel played right now… I just wish I had a label that cared, that would want to protect me. I wish I had a label that was out here trying to explain why I need advertisement for my record.''

She continued:

''I just want to be released, and it’s just that simple. And I’m tired of being nice, and I was trying to do everything the right way, but now I’m pissed. This was my final straw."

As per TMZ, the split between Ari and Dreamville Records was smooth. Ari recently released her new song Soft Girl Era on March 26, 2025, through Interscope Records.
