Madonna has revealed that her favourite music is anything from Kendrick Lamar’s latest album, GNX. In a video shared by the People Gallery on Instagram on March 31, 2025, the Material Girl hitmaker was spotted on the streets of New York City dressed in a gender-bending suit from Willy Chavaria, which she complemented with a Dior bag and Bali shoes.
She stopped for a brief interview, during which she answered some questions. When asked about her favourite song at the moment, she replied:
“Oh my god. My favourite song right now….. Erm…. Anything on Kendrick Lamar’s new album,”
Before adding:
“I don’t play, okay.”
Madonna had indicated in 2022 that she wanted to collaborate with Kendrick Lamar
Madonna has long been a fan of Kendrick Lamar’s work. The pop icon appeared on the Jimmy Fallon Show in August 2022, where she discussed her upcoming 50-track version of her dance remix album. Finally, Enough Love: 50 Number One Hits features artists like Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, and Nicki Minaj, amongst others. Madonna also revealed to Jimmy Fallon the one artist she wanted to collaborate with and hadn’t gotten a chance to yet:
“I mean, there’s one artist that I worship more than anything in life, and I would love to collaborate with him, and that’s Kendrick Lamar,”
She also described Lamar’s album Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers as a brilliant one:
“His new record is, like, history-making… mind-bogglingly brilliant,”
