BTS member Jimin released a song, Who, in 2024, which soon became a hit with over 94 million views on its music video on YouTube and over 1.5 billion streams on Spotify. In July 2024, Jimin became the second member of the BTS group to rank number 1 on Billboard with his solo song, following Jungkook.

Who was ranked as No. 1 on both the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. after its release? In August 2024, it was ranked at No. 14 on the Billboard Hot 100. In March 2025, Jimin broke the record for the longest-charting K-pop song on the Billboard Hot 100 with Who. This follows the previous record held by BTS's Dynamite song.

The internet reacts to Jimin’s Who becoming the longest-charting K-pop song on the Billboard Hot 100

A pop culture news media outlet on X uploaded the news of Jimin overtaking Dynamite's record with the caption,

"‘Who’ by JIMIN becomes the longest charting song by a K-pop act in Billboard Hot 100 history, surpassing ‘Dynamite’ by BTS. (33 weeks)"

The post soon gained mixed reactions from the users who showed their opinions in the comment section.

A user, @horejsiii, tweeted,

"And the most fraudulent one also!"

Another user, @ciityjen, commented,

"mind you this was the most fraudulent release yet say thank you to those bots that worked very hard"

Another user, @iwanturd4d, wrote,

While few users complained about the song, there were many users who showed support for Jimin in the comments.

Another user, @Clips_ETH, added,

"Wow, that's amazing news about 'Who' by JIMIN! It's incredible to see the impact of K-pop on the charts. Have you been enjoying the song as much as its record-breaking run on the Billboard Hot 100? Let's celebrate this achievement together!"

Another user, @jhondrl, tweeted,

"Back in 2012, PSY’s “Gangnam Style” shocked the world by hitting the Billboard Hot 100 and staying for 31 weeks, paving the way for K-pop’s global rise. Now, Jimin’s “Who” has outdone that legacy, hitting 33 weeks—proof of how far K-pop has come in just over a decade, driven by BTS’s influence and solo breakthroughs."

A proud fan, @vantethvcore, wrote,

"That is such a huge record , you are so big jimin I am so proud of you 🤍"

Jimin, along with RM, V, and Jungkook, joined the South Korean military in December 2023. As of now, Jimin and Jungkook are serving in the 5th Infantry Division’s artillery brigade. According to reports, they are set to be discharged in June, 2025. The band is expected to return with new music once all members complete their mandatory military service.
