An overview of Acid Bath's career
Acid Bath started out in 1991 and, throughout its brief original career, had the following members:
- Dax Riggs
- Sammy Duet
- Mike Sanchez
- Audie Pitre
- Joseph Fontenot
- Jimmy Kyle
- Tommy Viator
The band currently consists of the first three members. The band started out by releasing a set of demos from 1991 to 1993, including Screams of the Butterfly and Hymns of the Needle Freak as well as Liquid Death Bootleg.
These demos were followed by the band's debut studio album, When the Kite String Pops, on August 8, 1994. The album was not a commercial success, but it went on to become one of the pioneering works of the metal subgenre, sludge metal.
The album was followed by the band's second studio album, Paegan Terrorism Tactics, on November 12, 1996. The album is currently the band's last studio album release, having broken up soon after the release of the album. The band broke up due to the death of Audie Pitre alongside his parents in an incident involving a drunk driver.
After that, the surviving band members eventually went on to other projects, with the only release after that being the release of the compilation record, Demos: 1993–1996, in 2005.
The band is currently set to reunite with the original surviving members as well as Alex Bergeron and Zack Simmons. The reunion has come after years of rumors about the release of a third Acid Bath album as well as possible reunions, with band members having refuted such rumors and speculations steadfastly in the past.
It is unclear what has now prompted the change of heart for the surviving members to reunite again for the above-detailed upcoming Acid Bath tour as of the writing of this article.
