5 songs of Linkin Park that deserve more attention

Robot Boy

The song was featured in the album A Thousand Suns. The title compares a young person losing their feelings, becoming more like a robot who does what they’re told without showing emotions. Mike Shinoda also played the song's chords on his synthesizer in a New York City concert in 2018.

The Messenger

The Messenger song aims to give hope to people struggling with their emotions and life problems. Unlike their other rock songs, this song features only Chester Bennington’s voice and an acoustic guitar with light piano, which makes it different from the rest.

In Pieces

The song was released in the Minutes to Midnight album. It talks about the pain of a broken relationship, including hurt, loss, and confusion, but also trying to let go. While the song starts softly with Chester's vocals, it ends with strong rock music. Brad Delson, Linkin Park's guitarist, added a guitar solo to the bridge of In Pieces, which gave the song extra power.

Sharp Edges

The song, included in the One More Light album, is believed to be one of the most loved songs of Chester. The song's lyrics revolve around learning from mistakes, yet living to the fullest and accepting that pain is part of growing. The song was mainly written by Mike Shinoda, Ilsey Juber, and Brad Delson, along with other members of the band.

Victimized

As the name suggests, the song talks about human emotions after being attacked or misunderstood, along with showing anger at being constantly blamed. The song contains Chester's vocals in parts of the verse, which lead to the chorus, and Mike raps in between the song. The band also released the remix of the song in the album, Recharged.

Linkin Park has been seen as a band that writes songs about emotional struggles and encouragement to overcome pain. After Chester Bennington died in 2017, the band took a long break, releasing their new album From Zero in 2024. The band is also releasing the deluxe version of the album in May, with new unreleased tracks.
