Kids of Immigrants (KOI) is a lifestyle brand created in 2016. It was co-founded by Weleh Dennis, who has Liberian heritage, and Daniel Buezo, who has Honduran lineage. Although they have different backgrounds, they share the same experiences as kids of immigrants, hence the brand name. The brand allows them to tell their stories while empowering and representing their communities.

This year, Nike is making another appearance at ComplexCon. Nike has announced a collaboration with KOI and is showing off their latest design at ComplexCon.

ComplexCon is a festival and exhibition event that features the latest trends and releases from different prominent brands. It includes all things pop culture, sneakers, fashion, food, culture, and art. The exhibition is happening on the 16th and 17th of November 2024 at the Las Vegas Convention Center West Hall.

Kids of Immigrants x Nike collab: Air Max SNDR sneakers

Kids of Immigrants is not just another lifestyle brand, it was created with the aim to spread love and encourage creativity. According to them, the brand is "For the people, by the people."

The message that the founders want to share through their clothes is to

"... support your friends and do the best with what you have."

Nike and KOI will display their latest creation, the Air Max SNDR sneakers, at the Kids Of Immigrants' Together Gallery at ComplexCon. The gallery is a visual experience that allows the brand's community to see, feel, and understand the design and creativity behind the project.

The Air Max SNDR sneakers will be available in two colorways: Persian Violet and Sundial. The top part is made using custom TPU with grid lines inspired by the concepts of connectivity and communication. The colors on both are gradient, resembling the colors of a sunset. Replacing the laces, the Air Max SNDR uses a zipper system.

Many of the details and designs on the Air Max SNDR are a reinterpretation of their original silhouette.

What to expect from Nike at ComplexCon?

One of the main projects Nike has been working on for the ComplexCon event is the Air Max 1000. The Air Max 1000 was manufactured by Zellerfeld, a re-imagination of the original Air Max 1. The design will be displayed in a 3-D printed silhouette.

This is what John Hoke, the Chief Innovation Officer, at Nike had to say:

"As an innovator, what's most exciting to me about the Air Max 1000 are the new solutions we can achieve with next-level manufacturing. It's control, times precision, times expression — all of which are vital to sport and to design. When those variables of control, precision and expression are multiplied at once, the future of our product really does feel unlimited."

Additionally, the Cactus Colosseum will be presented by Nike and Travis Scott. It will feature a trophy case of some of the top artists sought after by Nike, collabs, a limited-edition retail store, and more.

With Nike and Kids of Immigrants joining forces, the Air Max SNDR sneakers are set to inspire creativity and innovation. Don't miss out on experiencing this groundbreaking event at ComplexCon in Las Vegas this November.
