Abbie Stockard shared a heartfelt message before the Miss America 2025 finale

The Miss America 2025 competition ended on January 5, 2025. 52 women participated this year in the beauty pageant between the ages of 18 and 28. They were judged on the basis of five segments. This includes a private interview, onstage question, talent or HER story, health and fitness, and evening gown.

Before the completion, Miss Alabama, now Miss America 2025, also shared a heartfelt post on Instagram.

The caption read:

"Tonight, a new Miss America will be crowned. As I step into this evening, I am filled with excitement, honor, and gratitude. Thanking the Lord for placing me here this week and giving me one of the most incredible experiences of my life."

It further continued:

"Regardless of the outcome, I want to express my deepest thanks to my friends, family, the amazing Miss Alabama board, and the wonderful people of Alabama for making me feel so appreciated and loved. I hope I’ve made you proud and represented you well."

The Miss America title has previously been won four times by contestants from Alabama. The last Miss Alabama to win was Deidre Downs in 2005. Abbie Stockard reclaimed the crown for Alabama after 20 years. She received it from last year's winner, Miss Colorado, Madison March.

Abbie Stockard, the Vestavia Hills resident, also got the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women Leadership Award on Wednesday along with six other contestants. She won a $3300 scholarship as a reward prize.
