Naruto and Burger King France have teamed up for a new collaboration celebrating the anime’s 20th anniversary. This fusion highlights the growing trend of recent anime collaborations in the fast-food industry and Burger King’s strategy to engage younger audiences.
While celebrating the occasion, the Burger chain has renamed itself BKonoha, inspired by the Hidden Lead Village (Konoha) from the popular anime series Naruto. The name reflects its connection with the franchise and its fan base in France. However, this has been done for a limited period as the collaboration ends on January 27, according to Dexerto.
Konoha in Japanese means a leaf, according to Japanese Particles Master. The word Konoha is the short form of Konohagakure, which translates into "Hidden Leaf Village" in Japanese, as per Game Rant. BKonoha marks Burger King's collaboration with the anime series Naruto. The name change was announced on January 11, 2025, through Burger King France’s official social media accounts. The collaboration kicked off on January 14, 2025.
Besides the name change, the restaurant chain also features menus around Naruto and Sasuke, the main characters in the series. The Naruto-inspired menu includes a burger with a white bun with sesame seeds, beef, emulsified soy sauce, onions, and cheese.
For the Sasuke-inspired menu, it includes a similar kind of burger along with the stuffings. The only replacement in this burger is the beef patty which is substituted by a chicken patty.
In addition to this, the restaurant chain has introduced exclusive merchandise as well. While Naruto-inspired merch features a corduroy hat including an image of an inflamed BK burger and Naruto’s signature ninja headband. As for Sasuke-inspired merch, it includes a t-shirt that includes an image of Sasuke eating at BK burger.
How have the fans reacted?
Naruto's recent collaboration with Burger King France has received mixed reactions from fans. While it has left a few elated, others expected the anime character, Boruto to eat burgers instead of Naruto and Sasuke. Some were upset as the collab was not launched in their country.
One of the fans on X said that it was a “good decision by Burger King France”.
“real recognize real!! i knew i loved naruto and burger king for a reason,” another user added.
“We need a Naruto collab in the US too.” Another user demanded a collab in US too.
“Why can’t the USA have nice things.” One person added.
“Wouldn't this have made more sense as a Boruto advertisement? Boruto eats burgers and burgers weren't even really a thing in the time of Naruto from what I remember. Lol” A user added.
“Why not boruto ? Since he eats burgers.” Another user pointed out.
Has Burger King collaborated with any anime before Naruto?
Burger King has engaged with several anime series over the years. These collaborations include My Hero Academia and One Piece. These partnerships have enhanced the experience for fans who can enjoy their favorite anime-inspired menus while dining with family and friends.
In September 2024, My Hero Academia announced its collaboration with Burger King. It launched a special menu featuring burgers inspired by Deku and Bakugo. The special meal dropped on September 17, 2024, according to a post in ScreenRant.
Burger King also collaborated with One Piece. According to CBR, the fast food chain has introduced limited-time meals in Switzerland, which are inspired by the anime characters Luffy and Sanji. This promotional deal began on December 30, 2024, and will last till February 2, 2025.
