As per Wendy’s official website, their 10-piece chicken nuggets contain 286 calories.
Founded in 1969, Wendy’s growth was rapid with the now worldwide franchise starting out as a simple restaurant but it rapidly became a fast-food empire. So much so, that by 1978, Wendy’s had opened their 1000th store in Tennessee and was still growing. Their rise was almost unprecedented with a large reason for that being the franchising system and the company soon went public. That took things to another level as they expanded globally with outlets across Europe and Asia. Now, as of 2025, there are over 7000 outlets across the planet with a large portion of them in the USA.

About Wendy's
Founded by Dave Thomas in 1969, Wendy’s started out as a simple restaurant that sold square patties in a circular bun which saw the restaurant’s fame rise rapidly. Eventually, Thomas named the restaurant after his fourth child and soon they began growing rapidly. They signed their first franchisee in 1972 and by 1978, the company had opened their 1000th restaurant. This was after the company went public in 1976 and it later joined the New York Stock Exchange in 1981.
The company kept growing and by the 1980s and 1990s, the company had opened up chains in Germany, Korea, Greece, Turkey, Guatemala, and Italy. However, not everything was rosy as the company struggled following its merger with Triarc Companies Inc. in 2008. This came with a change in name to Wendy’s/Arby’s Group but three years later, things changed again as the group sold the majority of its Arby’s chains to Roark Capital Group.
In the process, they changed the name to the Wendy's Company and expanded into Argentina, the UK, and several other countries including Australia.
