How would you have felt if your fine wine tasted like pizza? Are you puzzled? Well, Pizza Hut recently launched its ‘Tomato Wine’, shocking the internet! The limited-edition wine marks the food chain’s first foray into the wine industry.
Pizza Hut announced the news on their Instagram. Sharing the picture of the wine, the company wrote,
“Wine designed to go perfectly with a slice of pizza from the Hut 🍕🍷Introducing pizza wine, available now. Get it before it's gone.”
The “Tomato wine” is crafted with Irvine's Just Beyond Paradise Winery, a Kansas-based vineyard. According to Pizza Hut, it is made from "ripe, juicy tomatoes and infused with natural basil," perfectly capturing the essence of flavors in a pizza.
The chain added that the wine,
"offers an aromatic blend of fresh herbs and spices with rich, sun-ripened tomato notes and a subtle hint of toasted oak—reminiscent of a perfectly baked pizza crust."
A press release revealed that it “delivers a tasting similar to a white wine when enjoyed chilled.” The wine can be paired with any classic Pizza Hut pizza, that includes the festive Triple Treat Box. It added that “the new wine transforms each bite into an unforgettable tasting experience, ideal for any holiday soiree.”

Pizza Hut’s introduction of "pizza wine” in the market for the holiday season has sparked mixed reactions from social media users. Some are questioning its credibility as to whether it is a wine since is made out of grapes and not tomatoes. Others are intrigued to taste the wine.

Describing the wine, Pizza Hut told Food & Wine in a statement that it "captures the essence of your favorite slice in every sip." Elyse Slaton, Pizza Hut's director of advertising said that pizza wine combined with the Triple Treat Box will make a perfect gift this holiday season.
"The holidays are a time for many gatherings, but often, the gift of a bottle of wine can feel expected. Why not be the one to bring the pizza party with the gift of pizza wine and a Triple Treat Box designed to ignite fun and conversation."
