The popular animated series SpongeBob SquarePants has collaborated with Epic Games’ Fortnite, and gamers are buzzing with excitement. A popular gaming update account on X, @Dexerto, shared a trailer of the crossover on December 16, 2024, from Fortnite’s official account with the caption:
“Fortnite x SpongeBob collab is live.”
An X user replied under the post, stating:
“They make me want to download it every time.”
Other X users seemed to share the same sentiment as they expressed the desire to re-download the Fortnite game again.

The crossover grants gamers access to four unique modes— SpongeBob Red v Blue, Bikini Bottom Prop Hunt, SpongeBob Slap Fight, and Bikini Bottom Only Up in SpongeBob SquarePants universe.
For the Prop Hunt mode, gamers can hide by transforming into generic items as the opposing team hunts them down.
SpongeBob, the official handle of the show on Instagram shared the news for fans with the caption:
“SpongeBob games are now on @fortnite with four new experiences! Grab your spatula, get your friends together, and play now!”
The Bikini Bottom Only Up offers a fresh take on the viral gaming mode of 2023. In this mode, gamers attempt to reach the zenith of a difficult obstacle as they climb from “Rock Bottom” and encounter different “iconic Bikini Bottom landmarks” on the way.
The Slap Fight mode involves fighting off enemies as you search for Krabbie Patties to earn extra points. Lastly, in the Red v Blue mode, all the players are armed with Jelly Blasters as they play round-by-round.
