Taco Bell has announced the return of the crowd-favorite, Caramel Apple Empanadas in the Decades menu starting November 21. The news was shared on Instagram by food influencer, Snackolator. He posted a photo of the Empanadas and wrote,

"I cannot tell you how many times I've had people tell me they want these back - now is your chance!"

Snackolator is right as many fans rejoiced at the return of the Empanadas first introduced in 2000. The classical treat is returning to stores after a five-year hiatus. One user gleamed in excitement and wrote,

"YES IT'S GO TIME!"

Another user added,

"Should’ve never discontinued it."

Taco Bell has introduced the Decades menu to celebrate its 62nd anniversary. The menu is honoring five dishes that were previously discontinued. A customer noted that the Empanadas are reminiscent of his father's favorite food. He wrote,

"These aren’t my favorite, but my dad loved them so much he bought a bag of frozen ones when they were about to be discontinued. so I will get one wait 20 minutes for it to cool down and have it in his honor."

In a press release, Taco Bell talked about the launch and noted,

"The Decades Menu helps unite generations of fans who fondly remember these menu items, with a new era of fans who have yet to experience the delight of a savory Tostada, taste the legendary Green Sauce Burrito, or take their first bite of a Meximelt."

Four items from the Decades menu were dropped in stores starting October 31. These include a classic treat from each generation:

  1. '60s Tostada: $1.99
  2. '70s Green Sauce Burrito: $2.19
  3. '80s Meximelt: $2.99
  4. '90s Gordita Supreme: $2.99

The '00s Caramel Apple Empanadas are the last to join the league of the other four crowd-favorites on the menu. Customers can also enjoy the Luxe Cravings box ($7.99), which includes the '90s Gordita Supreme, 5-layered beef burrito, double-stacked tacos, chips with cheesy sauce, and a fountain drink.

The items will be available in stores for a limited time. In addition to nostalgic food, customers can also purchase limited-time merchandise, including hoodies and cups.

The Tex-Mex restaurant has brought back five popular items on the menu that were discontinued in its first 50 years of establishment. Customers can avail of special deals and offers on the Taco Bell and Uber Eats apps.
