The Nike Sabrina 2 Trust the Game sneakers, the brainchild of basketball star, Sabrina Ionescu and Nike, dropped on December 6, 2024, in different exciting colorways. The most prominent of them all, the Citron Tint yellow, is a symbol of Ionescu’s unwavering confidence and determination.
According to Nike:
"Sabrina Ionescu’s success is no secret. Her game is based on living in the gym, getting in rep after rep to perfect her craft. The Sabrina 2 sets you up to do more, so you're ready to go when it's game-time."
The Sabrina 2 kicks are presented in 11 other colorways including red, black, white, green, blue, and grey, with an option to design your own on the Nike website.
More details on the Nike Sabrina 2 Trust the Game sneakers
The Nike Sabrina 2 sneakers have grown increasingly popular, all thanks to the formidable design and impressive performance, following up on the success of the Sabrina 1 shoes.
The latest iteration of the footwear model features a new cushion foam that keeps the feet fresh while the Air Zoom cushioning promises bouncy strides and sticky traction.
The Citron Tint colorway takes inspiration from the yellow outfit worn by young Sabrina as she waited to be selected for pickup at the park. According to Nike, Sabrina, three-time All-Star and All-WNBA, wasn’t selected that fateful day, but developed a drive to perfect her craft.
The sunny colorway is an ode to the doubters and Sabrina’s ability to trust the process. The monochromatic yellow hue of the Citron Tint is highlighted by blue and deep rose-colored Swooshes, artfully placed on each shoe.
The shoes also feature a uniform red Flywire pattern on the mid panels which match the Sabrina logo on the tongue and provide stability. The midsole of the sneakers is designed with soft Cushlon foam to balance the underfoot and a firmer Cushlon that wraps around the feet to provide stability.
Other impressive features of the Nike Sabrina 2 include a dynamic internal midfoot containment system with bands and fit cables for movement control. The modified herringbone pattern makes it easy to quickly change direction without risks.
The fragments placed around the Swoosh logo pay homage to the proverbial glass ceiling that Sabrina has shattered in her basketball career. The back of the shoes also features an S embroidered on.
The embroidery, according to Nike, pays homage to the dreamers and those who strive to do more. With a 5-star review on the Nike app from more than 120 purchasers, it would seem that sneakerheads are impressed by the shoes.
