POGGYx Porsche capsule collection: Where to get, price, and more explored

Motofumi Kogi, also known as POGGY, is collaborating with Porsche for a new capsule collection. POGGY is a famous Japanese fashion curator, designer, and director of the United Arrows & Sons store.

The announcement was made on January 16 through the @poggytheman Instagram account. POGGY has also collaborated with reputed brands like Hamilton, Jimmy Choo/Eric Haze, and Levi’s.

The POGGY x Porsche capsule collection gets its inspiration from the Porsche 911 Carrera T and automotive features combined with fashion elements. It is designed to flatter people of any age.

The collection, along with POGGY’s Porsche 911 Carrera T, will be featured at SELECT by BAYCREW’S Toranomon Hills Station Tower from January 31 to March 4.

Items included in the POGGY x Porsche capsule collection

POGGY made the announcement of his new collection with Porsche on January 16 on Instagram. Soon after, he uploaded another post on January 19, showing admiration for the Porsche 911.

The caption of the post said:

"The Porsche 911 changed my life. Since I was little, I’d been fascinated by supercars after seeing them in books. I always loved cars, but when it came time to buy one, I only considered practicality and design."

He further continued,

"Three years ago, influenced by friends, I bought a used 911 (Type 996). The sense of groove I felt the first time I drove it is something I’ll never forget. Beyond the joy of driving and my passion for cars, I now enjoy wearing clothes featuring my favorite automobiles, just like wearing a T-shirt of my favorite band. From there, I entered the world of car communities. I want to continue driving a 911 for the rest of my life."

POGGY divided the collection into six parts, showcasing his dreams and the inspiration behind each piece of apparel. POGGY’s Dream 01 takes its inspiration from Jackie Stewart, a British former motorsports racing driver, who was mostly seen wearing a tartan check pattern. The Dream 02 takes inspiration from Princess Diana for her fashion and style.

POGGY also added the note for Dream 02 by saying,

"I don't know if she actually drove one, but the car that appeared in the documentary film about Princess Diana was a Porsche 911. She wore casual items like a V-neck sweater and sweatpants with a blazer. How romantic it would be to go on a drive with a stylish woman who has a sense of balance like Princess Diana."

The Dream 03 takes inspiration from POGGY’s lifelong dream of owning a Porsche. The Dream 04 features casual clothes that one can wear anywhere, anytime, and still look stylish.

The Dream 05 is inspired by a person reading manga in the Porsche. POGGY took it as an inspiration to bring denim for a relaxed fit. The Dream 06 features timeless designs that people of any age can wear to look fashionable.
