Jordan Brand is teaming up with NBA star Paolo Banchero to release a special edition of Paolo Banchero x Jordan Heir “Seattle Rotary” sneakers.
Officially set to launch on February 17, 2025, the sneaker will be available at Jordan Brand retailers, the SNKRS app, and the official Nike website. Sneaker Bar Detroit reports that these upcoming shoes are priced at $110.
The Jordan Heir silhouette is a relatively new addition to Jordan Brand’s lineup. This “Seattle Rotary” shoe pays tribute to the Seattle Rotary Boys & Girls Club, an organization that played a major role in shaping Banchero’s basketball journey. Inspired by his time in Seattle’s Rotary Select Basketball program, the shoe also pays tribute to his mother, Rhonda Smith-Banchero, and grandmother.
Nike announced these latest sneakers via an official press release, stating,
"Jordan Brand athlete Paolo Banchero is leveling up his game and paying homage to his roots with a new Player Edition of the Heir Series basketball shoe. The standout silhouette brings forward insights from the women’s game and is built for anyone who sets foot on the court."
It also added,
"Paolo’s Player Edition represents his journey from Seattle to the NBA, honoring the influence of his mother and grandmother on his game and style. The silhouette also pays tribute to women’s impact on culture and sport."
Delving into the Paolo Banchero x Jordan Heir “Seattle Rotary” sneakers
The Paolo Banchero x Jordan Heir “Seattle Rotary” sneaker features a relatively bold color scheme and performance-focused construction, the brand claims. It has a colorway labeled Blue Gaze/ Volt - White - Black.
Some of the Jordan Heir “Seattle Rotary” sneaker's features include:
Upper
- The Blue Gaze mesh upper has been added for breathability.
- A semi-transparent TPU cage is sported in the upcoming shoes.
- The black mesh tongue and matching laces provide a contrast to the overall design.
Colorway and branding
- The Volt Green accents on the shoe bring a pop of color. It further complements the Seattle Rotary-inspired blue.
- Black speckling on the midsole has been added.
- The Jumpman logo is placed on the right shoe, while Banchero’s logo (P5) appears on the left shoe.
- Inside the tongue, the Seattle Rotary Style AAU team logo is featured. It reinforces the shoe's connection to Banchero’s roots.
Midsole and cushioning
- The shoe uses a Cushlon 3.0 midsole for responsive cushioning and comfort.
- The foam midsole in white contrasts with the upper.
Outsole and traction
- The black-and-white rubber outsole is a feature of the Jordan Heir “Seattle Rotary” sneakers.
- The shoes further have a herringbone traction pattern.
Here is what Paolo shared while talking about the brand-new Jordan Heir “Seattle Rotary” shoes:
"Women athletes have always been a huge part of basketball for me: They’re the ones who taught me the game. My mom played in the WNBA and in college, and she instilled in me the discipline and dedication it takes to win."
He continued:
"She and my grandmother have been my biggest inspirations, and without them, I wouldn’t be where I am today. To have my first Jordan Brand Player Edition honor them is special — it’s a way to show my gratitude and remind myself of the foundation they built for me. Every time I step on the court wearing these, I’m carrying their legacy with me."
However, the relatively bold blue and green combination of the Jordan Heir “Seattle Rotary” may not be for those who prefer neutral tones.
