Nike Sabrina 2 Doernbecher sneakers: First look, release window, design details, and everything we know so far

Nike is rumored to launch the Nike Sabrina 2 Doernbecher sneakers. Nike celebrated 20 years of collaboration with Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) Doernbecher Children’s Hospital in 2024. The partnership raised $40 million as of October 2024, which is being used for healthcare in the hospital.

Just like every year, six patients were chosen in 2024 by Nike and Doernbecher Hospital and were given the creative freedom to design their own Nike sneakers. Their names include Jillian Beagley, Tima Sviridenko, Connor Kassing Fernández, Quin Nims, Ja’Kai Taylor, and Sophia Jenkins.

The Nike Sabrina 2 Doernbecher sneaker is the creation of Sophia Jenkins. The nine-year-old is an osteosarcoma survivor and dreams of becoming a parasport athlete.

The sneakers follow her favorite colorway, pink. The release window of the sneakers is expected to be by the end of January. Once released, it will be available on Nike's website and in stores. Nike is yet to confirm the final release dates.

Nike Sabrina 2 Doernbecher, designed by Sophia Jenkins, follows a pink and blue colorway

Nike Sabrina 2 Doernbecher is a perfect mix of lively and fun with cute flowers, stickers, and pickles throughout the sneakers.

Nike also added a note for Sophia in their press release by saying,

"The resilient kid loves her pickle stuffie, floral stickers and the pink fuzzy blanket she’s had since she was a baby. You’ll find all the above on her happy-go-lucky Sabrina 2, along with a reminder to live life Sophia Strong."

The sneakers come in a pink and blue colorway combined with fun colors like aqua blue, red, and purple for a happy vibe. It has a sticker of Sophia's favorite pickle, smiley, flowers, and hearts on the back. The back of the sneakers also says 'Strong' in colorful alphabets.

The ankle collar and inner lining are made of fluffy fabric, representing Sophia's favorite pink blanket. The midsole is also covered with flowers and smiley stickers, representing Sophia's jolly personality. It has a neon glow-in-the-dark outsole with a Nike logo on it for detailing.

Along with the Sabrina 2 Doernbecher sneakers, Sophie being a massive Taylor Swift fan, has included a DIY friendship bracelet kit that comes with thread and beads.
