History of the KD series

Kevin Durant was selected by the Seatle Supersonics with the second overal pick in the 2007 NBA Draft, and he has had a lifetime of adventures in the league.

Following nine seasons with the Oklahoma City Thunder and his widely criticized choice to go with the Golden State Warriors, the Slim Reaper spent three seasons with the Brooklyn Nets, where he, Kyrie Irving, James Harden, and at one point, Ben Simmons, formed an unsuccessful superstar triumvirate.

Durant's Brooklyn trade request was fulfilled in February 2023, a few days after Kyrie Irving, his running companion, was traded to the Dallas Mavericks. Durant was traded to the Phoenix Suns in a huge transaction only hours before the trade deadline.

In an attempt to assemble a contender around #7's generational ability, the desert team's squad has been reorganized around Durant, Devin Booker, and Bradley Beal since that huge deal.

With four scoring crowns, a regular season MVP, back-to-back NBA titles, and consecutive Finals MVPs under his belt, Durant is regarded as one of the best scorers of all time and has been dominating the League for 16 years.

With a spectacular three-shoe run between the KD 4, KD 5, and KD 6, Durant cemented his legend of on-court kicks. His early silhouettes were well-timed with the early 2010s preoccupation with titular storytelling.

The 12-time All-Star's early years were additionally characterized by color blocking that was influenced by his opposite career as a weatherman and his early recollections of shooting on a Nerf hoop.

Since it was last used in a low-top design with the KD 8, subsequent designs have focused exclusively on a mid-top design, combining a full-length Air Zoom cushioning system beneathfoot with an engineered Flyknit upper.

In April 2024, Durant debuted his 17th sneaker, which features the Swoosh's current second-longest-running trademark line. The new design heavily draws inspiration from the Air Max Plus.
