The classic all-leather top and Air Jordan 1-inspired toebox is still there in the golf version, giving it a classic yet practical appearance. The improvements include an enlarged mudguard panel with a modest Jumpman emblem on the medial side and a debossed Air Jordan Wings logo on the lateral side.

The tongue adopts a minimalist approach by staying unbranded, while the insole has distinctive Jordan Golf branding.

Performance-oriented, the split rubber midsole is paired with an outsole that has built-in golf spikes for increased traction on the course. Thanks to these improvements, the shoe is now as functional as it is fashionable.

About the sneaker

In 2002, the Jordan Nu Retro 1 made its debut. Before making a comeback to sneaker stores in 2022, it was kept in the vault for almost two decades. The "Chicago" hue of the Jordan Brand sneaker's initial release paid homage to Michael Jordan's legacy and the Air Jordan brand.

The Jordan 1's original Wings logo and design serve as a model for the shoes. The Nu Retro is distinguished by its large, embossed logo and smooth leather uppers. The Jordan Brand was given a distinctive twist using a fragmented "Wings" insignia on the lateral side instead of a swoosh.

Peter Moore created the Air Jordan 1, which debuted in 1985. The release coincided with Michael Jordan's NBA rookie season. The Jordan 1's design was straightforward and in line with other basketball sneakers from the same era.

The advanced technology that the Jordan Brand would come to be known for in later iterations was absent from the Jordan 1. Nike was committed to providing Michael Jordan with a sneaker and brand of his own to develop.

When you look at the shoe's unique emblem, that dedication is evident. Moore created the wings symbol, which was positioned on the shoe's upper ankle and was a forerunner to the Jumpman emblem.

There must be an initial chapter in every great story. The Air Jordan 1 is the first chapter in the Jordan Brand series. In many respects, the shoe's simplicity makes it even more poetic and appropriate for the first chapter.

It was impossible to predict in 1985 that Michael Jordan would go on to become the greatest basketball player of all time. Additionally, they had no idea how big and powerful the Air Jordan footwear franchise would grow. It all actually began with the Air Jordan 1.

Now, sneakerheads and golfers alike can show off their "Chicago" passion on the course by combining game-ready features with the legendary Jordan style.
