Delving into the Nike Ja 2 '12 Time'
The "12 Time" edition is named after Morant's dedication to improving his game at all hours. The “12:12” branding on the heel, which has replaced the usual "12 AM", symbolizes the same.
This subtle detail underscores Nike's strategy to relate its sneaker silhouettes with the public persona of icons. In this case, the brand ties Ja 2 with American basketball icon Temetrius Jamel "Ja" Morant.
Nike Ja 2 "12 Time" has got a Light Lemon Twist/ Total Orange- Light Army- Cargo Khaki colorway. The upper is clad in a Light Lemon Twist. The bright yellow color is quite eye-catching, which is further complemented and contrasted by the Total Orange Nike Swoosh.
The sneakers incorporate Cargo Khaki and Light Army accents on the midsole and heel. It balances the bright upper with an earthy tone. This tonal mix of colors creates a unique aesthetic for the upcoming Nike Ja 2 '12 Time'.
The shoes are also sported with several performance-based features. It has advanced foam technology for responsive cushioning, a lightweight build, a streamlined design, and a rubber outsole for better traction.
Adding some personal touches, the pair incorporates Ja Morant’s logo on one tongue, while the opposite tongue reads "Twelve Time," which is a nod to the player's focus on his performance. The insoles also showcase Morant’s branding.
Below is how Foot Locker is describing these upcoming kicks:
"Featuring a plush foam underfoot, these Morant-inspired shoes cushion your steps and landings, helping you flaunt your dynamic performance on the court. Backed by forefoot Air Zoom unit, these shoes support your footwork and keep you in control during long hours of play."
Some features of the Nike Ja 2 '12 Time' that the retailer highlighted on its website are:
Lightweight mesh upper keeps feet cool.
Engineered mesh on the big toe of the side of the shoe adds breathability.
Midsole offers better containment and support.
Raised foam collar provides cosiness around the Achilles heel.
Extra ankle padding brings extra comfort.
Durable rubber outsole has a multidirectional traction pattern that pays homage to the oversized tractor tires Ja still trains on.
