Below is what Nike had to mention about the 3D effect:

"The Cosmic Runner gives kids of all ages a superhero feeling, fueling their rebellious spirit and making every step feel like a leap toward greatness. It’s also the first kids’ silhouette to feature layered haptic printing, which creates a 3-D effect that adds texture and helps protect the mesh from scraping."

The sneaker further sports a reinforced toe-tip. This feature helps the shoe withstand rough play and running.

The outsole of the shoes is made of rubber. This sole uses Nike Grind, which is a special material made from recycled sneakers. It features a pull tab at the heel. This pull tab is especially helpful for younger children who are still learning to put on shoes on their own.

The shoe includes supportive cushioning that comes with shock absorption. For preschool and toddler sizes, there are some design changes to suit smaller feet. Below is what Nike said aboout these changes:

"Preschool and toddler sizes feature subtle design changes, such as adjusted patterns and elastic laces for easy entry, helping younger kids experience the joy of running throughout their day, from the playground to their own backyard."
