Sneakerheads have exciting news from Nike as the brand is planning to launch the Nike Air Max 95 “Cool Grey” sneakers. The launch is to honor the 30-year legacy of Nike Air Max 95, which was first introduced in 1995 and was designed by Sergio Lozano. Lozano got the inspiration from nature, resembling eroded soil layers, and the complexity of the human body, which he further utilized to make the design for Nike Air Max 95.
Nike Air Max 95 “Cool Grey” sneakers will also have air cushioning in the sole along with a full-length seam, which is being restored from the 1995 version. While it was replaced with a different cushion after 2000 due to certain issues, this new launch will bring back the original bubble seam cushion.
According to Sneaker News, the release window of the shoes is kept between spring and summer 2025, with a retail price of around $145. Once released, it will be available on Nike, SNKRS, and selected retail stores. However, Nike is yet to confirm the final news of the launch.

Design details of Nike Air Max 95 “Cool Grey” sneakers
According to Sneaker News, the Nike Air Max 95 “Cool Grey” sneakers will launch in a Cool Grey/Psychic Blue/Wolf Grey/Photon Dust/Black colorway. Nike also shared the inspiration for the design behind the Nike Air Max 95 on their website by adding:
"The Nike Air Max 95 Essential takes design cues from the human body. The midsole represents the spine, graduated panels are the muscles, the lace loops are the shoe’s ribs and the mesh on the upper is the skin."
The upper of the shoes is made of breathable mesh and leather in wolf grey combined with the wolf grey-colored shoelaces. The sides represent the soil erosion pattern in Cool Grey, Wolf Grey, and Photon Dust colors. The midsole and outsole are black in color with Psychic Blue accents for detailing.
The tongue has embroidery of 'airmax' in cool grey and psychic blue for branding. The sides of the sneakers have a small Nike swoosh in psychic blue and a Nike Air logo on the back. The outsole also features flex grooves for easy movement.
While these sneakers are one of a kind and come in a classic colorway, there is a possibility that the bubble seam in the sole might cause problems. In the past, Nike has changed the cushioning because of several issues, some of them being deflating over time and squeaking. Even though the brand will try to improve the bubble seam cushioning, those issues might still occur with the new version later on.
Customers who are interested in the cool grey colorway can also check out the Nike Air Max 2017 in the Cool Grey/Pure Platinum/Black colorway, which retails for $190, and the Nike Air Max 2013 in the Metallic Cool Grey/Metallic Dark Grey/Anthracite/Metallic Silver colorway, which retails for $180. Nike is also running discounts, which brings the price of the Nike Air Max 2017 to $124.97 and the Nike Air Max 2013 to $108.97.
Sneaker News has kept the expected launch date of Nike Air Max 95 “Cool Grey” sneakers between Spring and Summer 2025, which leaves customers with a release window of March 2025 to August 2025. Keeping the previous price points of the Air Max 95 in mind, it will be retailing around $145. Nike is yet to release the final dates and price of the sneakers.
