Walmart has officially announced that they will remain open and will be working the usual hours on 1 January 2025. The majority of the stores will be open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. on New Year's Day.
Walmart opens all seven days of the week, from Monday to Sunday, right from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. In case you want to shop during the quieter hours, Walmart suggests you drop in any day of the week between the hours of 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.
The US has over 4000 Walmart stores spread around the entire country. According to Statista, out of these, 3,572 are supercenter stores, while the 781 stores were considered as neighborhood markets.
Out of the 49 US states, Texas has the highest number of Walmart stores, with a total of 601, as recorded by Statista in 2023. Florida follows at a close second with 386 stores, and California is the third state with the highest number of Walmart warehouses, with 320 stores in total. Surprisingly, the state with the lowest count is Washington, D.C., with only 5 Walmarts in the entire state.
