Skincare brand First Aid Beauty has announced a recall of its face moisturizer. This was a voluntary recall on the company’s part, first announced on December 23, 2024. The product in question is the Ultra Repair Cream, of which 2,756 units were withheld.

As per the latest updates, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has classified the recall under the second-highest risk category. The FDA cited a breach of Current Good Manufacturing Practice regulations, essential for ensuring pharmaceutical product safety and effectiveness, as the reason for the recall.

The issue arose because the First Aid Beauty products for quarantine were mistakenly distributed. The affected items, distributed nationwide, bear lot numbers 24D44 and 24D45 and expiration dates of April 10 and 11, 2026.

The recall has been classified as Class II, meaning the product could cause temporary or reversible health issues with a low likelihood of serious harm. Consumers should check batch codes on the packaging. They can also find more details on the FDA’s website and by contacting the distributor.

FDA categorizes product recalls into three classes based on the severity of health risks associated with their use. Class I recalls involve products with a high probability of causing serious adverse health consequences or death.

Class II recalls pertain to products that may lead to temporary or reversible health issues, while the likelihood of serious harm is considered remote. Lastly, Class III recalls encompass products where the use or exposure is not expected to result in any adverse health effects.
