On January 18, 2025, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) issued a recall for several batches of eggs from six Canadian egg brands. The recall has its roots in potential Salmonella contamination.
The affected brands include Golden Valley, Compliments, Foremost, IGA, No Name, and Western Family. The CFIA recall primarily affects products that were distributed in Ontario, British Columbia, and Manitoba. However, there is a concern among enthusiasts that eggs from these batches may have also reached other provinces.

- Verify if your egg cartons match the affected lot codes listed on the CFIA website.
- Eggs from the recalled batches should be thrown out immediately to avoid any risk of contamination.
- Alternatively, you can return the affected eggs to the store where they were purchased for a full refund.
