Brazilian influencer Ricardo Godoi lost his life after undergoing general anesthesia for a tattoo. As per reports, the tattoo studio mentioned that Godoi died on January 20, 2025, at 45. The influencer wanted to get a full-back tattoo, for which he needed general anesthesia. However, he went into cardiac arrest before he was sedated.
Born on November 2, 1979, Ricardo Godoi was well-known on social media for sharing content about luxury cars. He reportedly had a thriving business importing and selling luxury sports cars such as Ferraris and Lamborghinis and served as the CEO of Godoi Premium Group.
On January 14, 2025, Godoi had shared an Instagram post sharing his objectives and goals for his work. He shared his vision of bringing rare and exclusive cars from around the world to excite car enthusiasts.
His goal was to introduce unique models never seen before in the country and make a mark as an importer focused on the extraordinary. A translated excerpt from the post read:
“More than cars, I bring dreams. Every vehicle I import carries a story, an essence, and it is my mission to share them with those who cherish the extraordinary.”
He invited others who share his passion for exotic and distinctive vehicles to follow his journey and explore the true meaning of exclusivity in the automotive world. In December 2024, Ricardo Godoi shared a heartfelt reflection, emphasizing that while time was fleeting, values left a lasting impact.
He highlighted the importance of kindness, courage, and purpose in shaping a meaningful future. Looking ahead to 2025, he expressed hope that love, resilience, and heartfelt actions would prevail over doubts and challenges.
Ricardo Godoi had to undergo blood tests before getting the tattoo
Ricardo Godoi reportedly informed his 218,000 Instagram followers that he was undergoing surgery and would return after 4 pm. As quoted by Daily Mail, the studio owner said:
“What happened was that, at the beginning of the sedation and intubation, he went into cardiac arrest. That occurred before they even started tattooing him. He was quickly checked and a cardiologist was called in to try to revive him, unfortunately without success.”
Pre-procedure blood tests indicated no significant risks, and Ricardo signed a consent form acknowledging the potential dangers. His friend Eduardo Razuk expressed disbelief, saying he spoke to Ricardo that morning and described him as an enlightened person who remains in his prayers.
As per Daily Mail, the tattoo studio revealed that Ricardo Godoi had planned to undergo the entire procedure at Dia Revitalite Hospital, complete with medical staff, equipment, and an anesthesiologist with proper credentials approved by the facility.
The owner of the tattoo studio grieved his death, calling him a great friend. A tribute was posted on his Instagram page on January 21, 2025, which mentioned that he died at noon. Sharing condolences to his family, the post read:
“It is with deep regret that we announce the death of Ricardo Godoi, which occurred today, at 12pm. In this moment of pain, we sympathize with family and friends, wishing them strength and comfort to go through this irreparable loss.”
Godoi is survived by his wife and children, while police continue to investigate his death.
