Annie Young-Scrivner recently caught the public eye as she stepped down from her position as CEO of the popular beauty brand, Wella Company. The 57-year-old Chinese-American business executive had been serving as chief executive for Wella Company for the last four years before stepping down earlier this month.
Earlier, she had also worked for other reputed brands like PepsiCo, Starbucks, and Godiva Chocolatier, among many others.
According to the beauty brand, Annie Young-Scrivner resigned from her position, citing family matters as a contributing factor. She had been serving as chief executive for four years now and has significantly helped put the company on the global beauty map.
Annie Young-Scrivner was born to Chinese parents who moved to the United States. Her family started multiple small businesses in various industries. However, Young-Scrivner started off her career with PepsiCo, where she stayed for 20 years. Thereafter, she moved on to Starbucks, where she held various leadership roles during her time between 2009 and 2017, when she left the organization to join Godiva Chocolatier.
Young-Scrivner held a leadership role at Godiva Chocolatier till 2020, after which she started off her career as CEO of Wella Company.

After Annie Young-Scrivner resigned as CEO of Wella Company, board member Glenn K. Murphy has stepped into the role. Murphy has held CEO roles in many prestigious companies in the past, including big names like Gap Inc., Lululemon Athletica, Inc., and Shoppers Drug Mart Inc.
In an official statement released by Wella Company, the following was mentioned.
"His strength in driving commercial excellence while changing the businesses’ growth trajectory will be invaluable in helping Wella Company continue to accelerate growth and achieve both its short- and long-term ambitions."
Sharing his thoughts about his new role, Glenn K. Murphy said,
"This is a pivotal time in Wella Company’s evolution, and I am excited to oversee the work of the team as we elevate the business to new levels of performance and success."
He did not fail to mention his predecessor, acknowledging her incredible work for the beauty brand as well.
"In Annie’s four years as Wella Company’s CEO, she helped establish a solid foundation for future growth. We thank her for her many contributions and wish her all the best."
Wella Company deals in various niches in the beauty industry, including haircare, nails, and beauty tech products as well. The company was established way back in 1880 and has been very popular ever since.
