Fast food chain McDonald’s is launching a new interface for affordable food items called McValue starting on January 7, 2025. The platform will have affordable options for foodies to save a few bucks. On November 22, 2024, the news was shared by McDonald’s in a press release, where they wrote,
“New, everyday value menu will be available nationwide starting Jan. 7, featuring more fan-favorite items and even more ways to save.”
The exciting part about McValue is that it will have the $5 meal deal which was introduced in June 2024 as a limited-time deal. In addition to this, other delights in the platform would include the exclusive Buy One, Add One for $1 scheme for certain food items, along with exclusive in-app offers and local food and drink deals.
Foodies can avail themselves of the Buy One, Add One for $1 offer for breakfast, lunch, and dinner choices.
In McDonald’s $5 meal deal, one can get a McDouble or McChicken sandwich, complemented with a four-piece order of Chicken McNuggets, small fries, and a small soft drink. The $5 meal deal has boosted the chain's popularity among lower-income customers. Not only that, but it has reportedly influenced perceptions of the brand's value and affordability.
Joe Erlinger, president of McDonald’s USA, explained in a statement that the idea of ‘value’ meant different things to different people, and the Golden Arches has collaborated with franchisees to launch a platform allowing customers to determine value based on their preferences. This includes personalized deals on favorite orders and popular options like the $5 Meal Deal.
Exploring some of the other deals in McDonald’s McValue
The new Buy One, Add One for $1 offer allows customers to curate personalized deals by mixing and matching their favorite items. By purchasing one full-priced item from the McValue menu, customers can add a second item for just $1.
Under this deal, breakfast options include the Sausage McMuffin®, Sausage Biscuit, Sausage Burrito, and Hash Browns, while lunch and dinner options feature 6-piece Chicken McNuggets, Double Cheeseburgers, McChicken®, and Small Fries.
The McValue platform will also feature store-specific in-app deals, such as a free large order of French fries with a minimum $1 purchase for app users. However, this is just an example of the deal, as individual stores might have different offers.
Cory Watson, a senior official at MCD, highlighted the importance of meeting customer demand for affordable meals, emphasizing the commitment of franchisees to offer great local deals. These include special pricing on popular individual items, meal bundles, and other options like iced coffees, soft drinks, cheeseburgers, and Chicken McNuggets.
