The annual event ComplexCon was launched first in 2016. It provides a platform for established and emerging brands. It has become a common place for introducing brands and new collaborations. This year, the global artist Travis Scott is launching CactusCon, an interactive space within the convention. Scott’s selection will feature merchandise, streetwear, and a surprise mix of collaborations with eleven brands. Notable collaborators include DIESEL, Fox Racing, Ecko, and the Las Vegas Raiders.
The niche of these collaborations is mainly under wraps. Whether the collaborative collections feature apparel, sneakers, or accessories has not been disclosed. However, the anticipation among his fans and sneakerheads is high.
Among the brands that will launch at this year’s ComplexCon, Anthony Calydon, Ciriaco, Jackson Napier, and San San Gear are some of the others.
Paris-based Anthony Calydon has gained attention for its sweatsuits featuring ribbed knit details inspired by superhero aesthetics. From New York, Ciriaco has garnered attention for its handbags. The brand’s crescent moon-shaped “Ashley” bag is an acclaimed item among fans. Chicago’s Jackson Napier is coming with its hoodies and cargo pants. San San Gear will be offering tech wearables from Seoul.
In the sneaker segment, an anticipated launch is the Jae Tips x Saucony Matrix debut at the event. Created in collaboration with Bronx artist Jae Tips, the Matrix model revives a 1990s Saucony trail runner, which Saucony’s Brian Moor designed initially. The revival edition of the sneakers comes in two colorways: a pink and blue combination and another with the burgundy and brown blend.
The Matrix shoe design maintains key elements from the original 90s model, featuring multi-layered suede, chrome piping, and a silver geometric quarter logo. “Savior” text details are sported on the heel, alongside the Jae Tips’ flower logo. This collaboration is awaited for release at ComplexCon 2024.
