McDonald’s snack wraps are set to re-emerge in 2025, and foodies are excited, to say the least. Snack wraps, a simple treat of tortilla-wrapped chicken tenders, were launched in 2006 and quickly became a favorite amongst Americans.
More than a few hearts were broken when McDonald’s discontinued the Snack Wrap in 2016. After nearly eight years of begging the food chain to bring back the beloved snack, it shared the good news on X and Instagram with the text “snack wraps xx.xx.2025” on December 5, 2024.
The post on X has garnered nearly 9 million views and over 4 thousand responses with netizens expressing their joy at the unexpected news.

The McDonald’s snack wraps were reportedly discontinued in the US due to operational complexity
The tasty snack wraps—warm tortillas stuffed with lettuce, shredded cheese, sauce, and juicy fried chicken, were discontinued in 2016 and left fans disappointed.
Per a report from Business Insider on December 6, 2024, customers petitioned the popular food chain on change.org with over 18,000 signings to bring back the snack wraps, and their pleas went unanswered until December 5, 2024.
Chef Mike Haracz, former McDonald’s chef, offered a plausible explanation as to why the snack wraps were removed from the menu in a TikTok video posted on August 2023.
Haracz stated that the popular meal was discontinued because of operational complexity, as they were more difficult to make than other offerings on their menu.
Joe Erlinger, president of McDonald’s US, confirmed on Good Morning America on December 5, 2024, that the beloved snack wraps would be returning in 2025 and added:
"It has a cult following. I get so many emails in my inbox about this product,"
The exact date of the launch is still unclear, and when asked to give a specific date, Erlinger declined and stated:
"I'm not going to tell you exactly when in 2025 for competitive reasons,"
