Entertainment news website Dexerto shared a tweet on X on December 16 suggesting that Subway might be experimenting with a new menu item called "Footlong Nachos" in select locations across the U.S. and Canada.
In 2022, Subway introduced a big menu update called Subway Sidekicks, which included three-foot-long snacks designed to go perfectly with your favorite sub or to enjoy as a treat anytime.
One of the main items was the Footlong Cookie, a thick, gooey cookie full of chocolate chips. They also collaborated with Auntie Anne's and Cinnabon to create exciting twists on their classic treats: the Footlong Churro and the Footlong Pretzel.
The Footlong Nachos is suspected to be the new item on the Subway Sidekicks menu.
The tweet got attention from thousands of users on X. Subway fans had a mostly mixed reaction to the news. A few users showed excitement for the new addition:
"Oh? I may have to start eating at Subway again. Love me some nachos."
Another user added:
"I’m definitely trying that with another footlong I’m ordering"
Amidst the fun and excitement, many users displayed skepticism with the new menu item. One user wrote:
"who's going to subway for nachos 💀"
Another user added:
"Could be hit or miss"
Subway is yet to officially announce new footlong nachos
The fast food brand hasn't officially announced the addition of the new Footlong Nachos to their Sidekicks menu. The footlong nachos are expected to have melted cheese, meat, and toppings.
For the festive season, the company has already started selling its Double Chocolate Peppermint Footlong Cookie. It is made with white chips, chocolate, peppermint extract, and candy cane sprinkled on top, priced at $5.
The Footlong Nachos is expected to launch somewhere in spring 2025. The new addition to the Sidekicks menu can be a limited-time offering, and customers can keep an eye on their official website to stay updated.
