Stellar Blade's studio Shift Up gifts all its employees a new PS5 Pro + $3.4k as an end-of-year bonus

Game developer Shift Up saw massive success with their console title, Stellar Blade, in 2024. As a token of gratitude towards its employees, and as an end-of-the-year bonus, the game developer has rewarded all its employees with a PS5 Pro along with a cash bonus amounting to roughly $3.4k.

According to Naver, each of the company's 311 employees has received the gift. As per the official PlayStation website, one PS5 pro console costs $699.99.

It is quite a refreshing change of pace from the industry stories that are regularly heard of, wherein studios and developers usually see massive layoffs after the success of games, even in the big names in the industry like Sony and Microsoft.

The gesture was heavily appreciated by the gaming community as well, who took to social media to share their appreciation.

Stellar Blade by Shift Up is only available on PS5 as of now

Stellar Blade was released only for the PS5 console. The game received a positive response from the gaming community, propelling its devs to encourage the team's good work.

While there are talks about a PC port being in the works for Stellar Blade, there is no such rumor about an Xbox port anytime soon. This could be because many developers are currently facing issues with the Xbox Series S, so Shift Up may not want to deal with this problem yet.
