Starbucks lovers need not worry anymore on lazy days. The café company has introduced delivery services through DoorDash across the US and Canada, except Quebec. Following an earlier partnership, this new option offers fans an easy, integrated way to order wherever they are.

This service has been implemented following partnership announcements from January and March 2023, which introduced the cafe company to DoorDash’s expansive consumer network in both countries. Customers can now choose to order delivery through both apps.

The Starbucks app now has an online ordering facility from the food ordering company's platform, an integrated system that enables merchants to customize the digital experience, gather customer insights, and boost user engagement. When opening the app, customers can switch between pickup and delivery options on the store selection screen.

With DoorDash powering the delivery option, cafe company lovers within participating stores' delivery zones can enjoy a seamless digital experience. To mark the launch of this new mobile delivery feature, customers can enjoy $0 delivery fees on orders placed through the Starbucks app from November 13 to 17, 2024.

Per Chain Storage, a spokesperson from the cafe company shared that by introducing delivery within their app, it aims to make it even easier for customers to order their favorite drinks and food items, streamlining the ordering experience.

The food ordering company's delivery associates handle orders placed through the app, and customers can track each order’s journey from preparation to delivery. To maintain the quality of hot and cold items, the cafe giant has created special packaging with features like spill-proof stickers, tamper-evident seals, and delivery-friendly cup holders.

Starbucks previously announced it won’t have its full menu on DoorDash

Since spring 2020, Starbucks has offered on-demand delivery through a collaboration with Uber Eats and expanded to a DoorDash delivery partnership in spring 2023. In the U.S., the partnership allows customers to order Starbucks via the food delivery app on iOS and Android, as well as its website.

Brooke O’Berry, senior vice president of digital experiences, emphasized that as customer behaviors shift, the cafe company continues to enhance its digital offerings to provide valuable connections. She noted that the partnership offers customers another convenient option to enjoy food items from almost anywhere, with delivery representing a key growth area for the company.

Earlier, it was announced that the service was launched in selected cities like Atlanta, Houston, and Sacramento, followed by Seattle, Portland, and New York City. However, the collaboration would gradually extend to new locations across the U.S., reaching all 50 states by March 2023.

Sanjay Kotte, the food ordering company's head of strategic partnerships, highlighted that this collaboration would bring beverages and food to even more neighborhoods nationwide. He remarked that the combination of the cafe giant's high-quality offerings with DoorDash's extensive logistics and reach is a great benefit for coffee lovers across the country.

While Starbucks won’t be able to offer its full menu on DoorDash, about 95% of its core menu is available on the platform, and customers can personalize their orders there just as they would in-store, with options for adjusting syrup, milk types, and espresso roasts.
