As per a report by The Kitchn, the hot cocoa rolls first came to the shelves in 2020 after which TikTok users filled the social media app with their experiences of baking the rolls.
The news of the re-release of these rolls was posted by an Instagram channel named ‘Snack Betch’ which shared pictures of other releases too. YouTube channel ‘theendorsement’ posted a review video of the rolls in 2020. The host said,
“So, I am going to be honest with you. They have a really uh nice taste and a really good texture. They are soft with a little bit of crunchiness on the outside but I am missing the cinnamon because you look at these and they are like I know those are gonna taste like cinnamon. This doesn’t taste like cinnamon.”
He added,
“I also did not get one that had a lot of the chocolate as you can see you have the chocolate on the inside of the roll right there uh where the cinnamon would be. So, I am not getting a lot of the chocolate.”
