Pepsi is hopping on the holiday bandwagon with its latest release: Pepsi Zero Sugar Gingerbread. These will be available starting December 4, and the concoction features the classic Pepsi flavor, along with hints of brown sugar, cinnamon, ginger, and molasses.
However, the only way to get ahold of the bottles packed with the festive season is to head to the brand's TikTok shop. Alternatively, there will also be a special giveaway on the official Pepsi website. Pepsi joins a long list of brands reveling in the festive season, including its competitors, 7UP's Shirley Temple, and Coca-Cola's Cinnamon Coke.
Here's all we know about Pepsi Zero Sugar Gingerbread ahead of the holiday season
While many may have been expecting Pepsi to drop a cranberry-flavored soda, the brand went with gingerbread instead. Notably, this is Pepsi's first-holiday offering since 2004, when they dropped the Pepsi Holiday Spice. The drink featured hints of nutmeg and cinnamon, Chron reports, but was discontinued just a few short years later.
For those looking to get their hands on some of the gingerbread cans, with every 2 Pepsi Minis 10 packs purchased on the TikTok shop, you get a free can of the holiday offering. As for the special giveaway, head to the official Pepsi site and enter your details for a chance to win the same. This will run from December 4 through December 11.
Those interested in toying with the new variant, have a variety of recipes to try out. For one, they can mix in a bit of milk to make a drink similar to an ice cream float. Alternatively, they can add in a splash of bourbon for a good old party cocktail.
In 2022, Pepsi confused the world when it dropped Pilk-- a combination of Pepsi and milk, almost similar to an ice cream float. In 2019 they dropped their Winter Spiced Cranberry, which drew varied reviews. As for its competitors, Mountain Dew dropped a similar soda, the Gingerbread Snap’d soda, in 2021. The drink managed to stay afloat and is still in circulation today.
In other news, Pepsi made headlines with its “Undercover Cups” campaign. In new videos circulating online, Pepsi agents can be seen sneaking into McDonald’s, Burger King, and Wendy’s outlets and swapping out customers' orders with a tall drink of Pepsi.
In the video, with the phrase "Every burger deserves Pepsi," the agents can be seen boldly swapping out drinks left and right. While some customers can be seen reacting with gnarly language, others, however, were visibly shocked at how "good" their new drink was. Bloopers and behind-the-scenes are expected to be released on social media soon.
