Nike is reportedly set to launch the Zoom Vomero 5 “Barely Volt” sneakers.

This women’s exclusive sneaker continues the model’s resurgence in the lifestyle sneaker scene. While the Vomero 5 first made its mark as a performance running shoe in the early 2010s, its sleek build and breathable mesh construction have gathered love from fans.

The “Barely Volt” edition allegedly follows a more subdued approach compared to the relatively bright Vomero 5 colorways of the past. It features an off-white mesh base, muted green suede overlays, and gray accents. The sneaker retains its signature Cushlon midsole and Zoom Air cushioning.

How might the Nike Zoom Vomero 5 “Barely Volt” sneakers look?

The Nike Zoom Vomero 5 “Barely Volt” takes a subtle approach to its color scheme, Sneaker Bar Detroit reports. Some of this edition's other features include:

Upper

  • The sneaker features an off-white mesh base for breathability.
  • Muted green suede overlays wrap around the toe, midfoot, and heel of the upcoming shoes. It adds a slight contrast to the overall design.
  • Gray TPU profile cages house the signature metallic silver Swoosh logos on each side.
  • Black detailing reportedly appears on the heel counter and tongue branding.
  • Its colorway is labeled Barely Volt/ Metallic Platinum - Pure Platinum.

Midsole and cushioning

  • The Cushlon midsole is sported, which is a signature feature of the Vomero 5 silhouette. It is expected to offer plush underfoot cushioning to the wearer.
  • Zoom Air technology in the forefoot and heel has been added for responsiveness and shock absorption.
  • The midsole’s green hue provides a slight pop of color against the toned-down upper.

Outsole and other details

  • The rubber outsole features a mix of gray, black, and neon green.
  • Gray laces tie the design elements of the Nike Vomero 5 “Barely Volt” together.

With its combination of subtle tones and other useful materials, the Nike Zoom Vomero 5 “Barely Volt” can be a good pick for those looking for a versatile sneaker. However, the soft green and off-white tones give it a minimalist look, but some sneakerheads might prefer relatively bolder color blocking seen in other Vomero 5 releases.

Additionally, since this release is reportedly targeted at women’s sizing, men looking to pick up a pair may need to adjust their sizing or wait for a similar unisex colorway.
