Kevin Durant and Nike Basketball are reportedly set to continue their partnership with the upcoming Nike KD 18 “Liquid Lime” sneakers.

Disclaimer: Details of the Nike KD 18 “Liquid Lime” sneakers are only speculated, and are not yet confirmed by the brand. They are subject to change.

The Nike KD series has been a beloved one in the brand's basketball lineup since 2008. Over the years, the silhouette has been featured with multiple iterations. With the KD 18, Nike reportedly introduces a design influenced by Nike ACG trail-running shoes, particularly the Nike Terra Humara, a 1997 model known for its outdoor-ready features.

The KD 18 “Liquid Lime” will be allegedly dressed in a mix of Clear Jade, Liquid Lime, and Black, with Orange accents. The sneaker incorporates cushioning technology, an open-holed mesh upper, and more. As Durant continues to make an impact in the NBA, this latest addition to his signature line is expected to be met with notable attention from sneakerheads worldwide.

Reported design elements and features of the Nike KD 18 “Liquid Lime” sneakers

The KD 18 “Liquid Lime” reportedly takes design inspiration from Nike ACG "All Conditions Gear" and the Air Terra Humara, Sneaker Bar Detroit reports. The pairs first hit the market in the late ‘90s.

The linear and cage-like structure allegedly seen throughout the upper is a nod to motorcycle disc brakes and the midsole grooves of the Air Talaria, another beloved model from 1997.

The open-holed mesh base is believed to be borrowed from the Nike Vomero 5. Canvas materials wrap around the heel and collar. The midfoot overlay is constructed from textured TPU and rubber. The sleek TPU Swoosh along the collar keeps the branding minimal.

Colorway

The "Liquid Lime" colorway of the KD 18 “Liquid Lime” sneakers is a speculated combination of lime green, teal (Clear Jade), and black, with additional orange accents on the outsole and lace loops.

This mix of colors is believed to be a nod to Durant’s hometown of Washington, D.C., where Nike ACG sneakers have developed a notable cultural following.

The black midsole and the vibrant lime green base add a contrast to the overall look of the shoes. Fans of previous bright KD releases, such as the KD 4 "Weatherman," will likely appreciate this latest KD 18 “Liquid Lime” with high-contrast color blocking.

Some of the sneakers' reported key features include:

  • Forefoot Zoom Air unit
  • Cushlon foam midsole
  • Nike Air cushioning on the heel
  • Dot Weld heel Strobel technology
  • Dynamic lacing system with TPU loops

However, the lime and teal mix may not appeal to sneaker fans, who prefer a more neutral look.
