The shoes are set to re-release on February 13, 2025, with a retail price point of around $160, reports Sneaker Bar Detroit. Witha nod to the retro roots, the 2025 edition reportedly features a metallic silver synthetic leather and mesh upper. It is then contrasted by a light blue-bordered Swoosh and black detailing on the eyelets and back tab. A white midsole and black rubber outsole complete the design of the upcoming Spiridon OG “Metallic Silver” shoes.
Nike’s decision to revive this OG colorway comes as part of its Cult Classics campaign. With retro running shoes gaining attention from global fans in modern sneaker trends, this re-release is anticipated to garner notable enthusiasm from sneakerheads worldwide.
Reported design elements of the Nike Air Zoom Spiridon OG “Metallic Silver” sneakers (2025)
The upper of the shoes is primarily metallic silver, a signature element of the original design. A mix of synthetic leather and mesh has been sported for a lightweight feel. The sneaker's colorway is labeled Metallic Silver/ White - Signal Blue - Black.
A light blue-bordered swoosh is featured on the side. It adds a subtle contrast against the silver backdrop. A mini Swoosh near the toe might also appear.
Black accents appear on the elongated eyelets and heel tab. These elements add to the visual contrast of the overall design of the 2025 edition of the Nike Spiridon OG “Metallic Silver” sneakers.
Some of its other speculated features include a full-length white midsole, Nike Zoom Air technology for lightweight cushioning and responsiveness, a black outsole, and a white midsole. The combination of a white midsole and black outsole is another nod to the OG Spiridon look.
Since this is the first-ever retro release of the 1997 Metallic Silver Spiridon, comparisons to the original are being made by fans. Below is what fans can expect to remain the same, and what could change:
Possible similarities
- Metallic silver upper with mesh and synthetic leather
- Signature light blue-bordered Swoosh
- Black detailing on eyelets and back tab
- Full-length Zoom Air cushioning
- White midsole and black rubber outsole
Possible changes
- Refinement in material quality
- Updated insole branding to match Nike’s 2025 Cult Classics campaign
The Metallic Silver and black combo is classic but it may not suit everyone’s style preferences. Also, its speculated price is on the higher side for a retro runner shoe.
