McDonald’s has joined hands with WNBA player, Angel Reese for a limited-time special menu. The food giant revealed in a press that it marks its first collaboration with a female athlete. The meal will consist of a BBQ Bacon Quarter Pounder, World Famous Fries, and the customer's choice of beverage.
While the price hasn't been revealed, customers can expect to see nationwide distribution in McD restaurants beginning February 10, 2025. McD took to Instagram to confirm the collaboration with the basketball champion. Reese's team Chicago Sky also took to the comment section and expressed their excitement and called her,
"Mcbarbie."
McDonald’s announces first-ever female athlete meal with Angel Reese
On January 30, McDonald’s revealed it is partnering with Chicago Sky's player, Angel Reese. In a press release, Jennifer Healen, Vice President of Marketing at McDonald's spoke about the collaboration and noted a special connection between the fast-food chain and basketball fans. She added,
“We want to continue to fuel their love for the game and support athletes on and off the court. We’re excited to bring our legacy with basketball culture to a new generation, and partnering with Angel is only the beginning.”
Angel Reese also expressed her excitement for the partnership and noted that like many Americans, McD has been "a big part" of her life. She said in a press release,
“It’s really a dream come true to be the first-ever female athlete to have my own meal and be a part of McDonald’s amazing basketball legacy."
Angel hopes that the special meal reminds "young athletes" to never give up on their "dreams." While the price of meal items hasn't been released, it will include a BBQ Bacon Quarter Pounder with special BBQ sauce and cheese, Medium World Famous Fries, and a Medium beverage.
In the press release, McDonald’s revealed they will release content on McD's "hooping history" and a "tribute" to basketball players.
McD is all set to launch the special meal on February 10, 2025, until stock lasts. The meal can be availed through the McD app, Drive Thru, and restaurants.
The fast-food chain has collaborated with celebrities to launch special meals and offers. Its collaboration with Angel Reese comes after its recent partnership with actor and wrestler, John Cena.
